***PLEASE FULL VIEW FOR DETAIL AWESOMENESS***
It was just another typical, obnoxiously drippy so-called storm for the southernmost end of the Golden State. Except this time, the weather system rolled in with something much more menacing on its heels. Something far worse than thunder, lightning and the accompanying waterspouts and mudslides: the Detroit Red Wings powerhouse. The top-ranked hockey team appeared in Anaheim fresh from their shut-out over the Los Angeles Kings the prior night, leaving the self-proclaimed 'intimidating' team behind to weep and lick their wounds. Was it too much to ask that the Red Wings get caught in the same traffic snarls on the way to the Honda-Center-Formerly-Known-As-The-Arrowhead-Pond-of-Anaheim, much the way many fans probably had been? Apparently yes. It was a veritable blood-bath as well as a literal one. The squeamish blanched at the sight of Red Wing Dan Cleary's blood hitting the ice in ruby-red raindrops after a particularly nasty confrontation – of which there were many. Fans could not have asked for a better game. Well, no, not so. The Ducks fans would have preferred their team's winning streak to extend from seven games in a row to a nice round eight. Hell, while we're daydreaming, how about ten and more? . . . Inspired by a hockey game in the 2007/2008 season between the Detroit Red Wings and Anaheim Ducks. That's our beautiful hockey rink -- Honda Center -- in the background (  's photo).I drew Tegwen drew Steelbeak and colored and shaded the whole thing in addition to providing the background. We loves him.  Steelbeak copyright Disney Tegwen is (as always) mine, not that anyone's walking off with her. Red Wings and Ducks have something to do with the NHL. |

There'd be a whole lot of wrath-incurring going on. There'd be more incurring of wrath here than there was begatting in the bible!
It was actually because of this drawing that a whole new (disgusting) world opened up in my fanfic. Though I'm happily keeping that out of the edited version of the story.
Any case, of course I would re-upload this piece; it was one of my absolute favorites.
